ALTERACION EXPERIMENTAL DE SERPENTINAS Y FILITAS EN MEDIOS ÁCIDOS

Abstract
The results obtained when two different types of rocks, filite and serpentinite, are placed in contact with three acid solutions of different behaviour and pH, are presented. The total amount of exported cations was very high at the beginning in all the cases, but afterwards it stabilizes. Probably, the more resistent cations to the acid attack remained on the surface of the mineral grains, so that they impeded the access of the acid solutions to the more easily weatherable minerals.
