Abstract

In this paper the influence of the soil characteristics on Zn and Cd fixation capacity and mobility along surficial horizont of the three different soils have been determined.

The Cd and Zn fixation, mobility, disponibility and antagonistic or synergistic interactions were characterized in the soils treated with 50 mg/kg Cd, 100 mg/kg Zn and 50 mg/kg Cd plus 100 mg/kg Zn.

Cd and Zn adsorption increased in soils with high organic matter content, high cation exchange capacity, finess textural class and lowest Al saturation in exchange complex.

Zn mobility is higher than Cd mobility in the three soils. In soils treated with Cd and Zn, the interactions enhanced the Cd mobility and disponibility.

Key Words: Soils, Zn, Cd, Mobility, Disponibility.
