Abstract

The object of this paper is to analyse the quality of the soils of the limestone highlands in the region of La Alcarria, in the province of Guadalajara (Spain). For this purpose, TM and ETM from the Landsat satellite were used. Field and laboratory works have been done in order to describe and analyse two profiles of the soils, which are Chromic Luvisol and Calcaric Cambisol. Supervised classifications were done with the whole data, selecting different units of vegetation, lithology and use of the soils.
