Abstract

In the central part of the Ebro basin, there areas with a high risk of desertification due to hydric erosion. Application of radiotracers to assess soil movement on slopes offer a valuable potential to identify sediment sources as well as to discriminate erosion or agradation areas. In this work we apply radiometric techniques on slopes of the central South Pyrenean region. The soil redistribution seems to be affected by the physiographic position and orientation, besides land uses and vegetation cover also affect the soil losses.
