4. Pedofeatures

Coatings

 

They are defined by their composition and by the surface they coat.

They coat a natural soil surface: the walls of voids, the surface of grains and of aggregates. They are not superimposed on the groundmass (they are not impregnations) and they have net limits.

They have a very varied nature:

Carbonates

Gypsum

Fe compounds

Mn compounds

Organic compounds

Compounds of different types of layers
